Savage Edge Adjustment Instructions:
With the rifle unloaded but cocked and the safety disengaged, turn the sear adjustment screw slowly clockwise until the rifle fires. Once it fires turn it slowly counter clockwise about 1/6 of a turn. Use the lock nut to snug the position when the sear is set to your desired level of engagement. When you lock the nut be sure to keep the 5/64 hex wrench in the screw so it does not move. The closer the sear and trigger get to the edge the less sear engagement you have and the less creep you feel in the trigger. It is important to make this adjustment very slowly.
With the rifle in the cocked position, and while pressing the trigger forward so that it cannot fire; turn the safety adjustment screw clockwise using the 5/64 hex wrench until it stops. Once it bottoms out you will turn it slowly counter clockwise until the safety moves but the rifle will not fire on safe.
Pull weight is controlled by the screw pressing against a pull weight spring. The pull weight spring in turn presses against the bottom of the receiver. If you turn the screw clockwise the amount of spring pressure increases and so does the pull weight. If you turn the screw counter clockwise the pull weight drops lower. It is important that the pull weight is not adjusted below 1.5 lbs. or slam fires can occur.
